From Michael Aaron Gallagher:
In my travels, I often enjoy photographing waterfalls. It is remarkable how they change throughout the year. Sometimes, in seasons of drought, they are barely a trickle, while after a heavy rain, they roar mightily, sending misty clouds high into the air. These are just some of the waterfalls I have chased over the years. I will add more as I visit them.
Delphi Falls
Cazenovia, New York
At approximately 65 feet tall, Delphi Falls is probably the most picturesque waterfall I have ever visited. There is a reason so many photo shoots take place there. After recently becoming a public park, it is now one of the most approachable waterfalls as well, allowing you to walk right up to the base of the falls.
Chittenango Falls
Cazenovia, New York
Chittenango Falls has long been celebrated for its cascading beauty throughout the year. Regardless of the season or the amount of rainfall, it is undoubtedly one of the prettiest waterfalls in Central New York.
Salmon River Falls
Orwell, New York
When I first beheld the Salmon River Falls it reminded me of the majestic beauty of Niagara Falls. I took this photo, amazed at the people standing above the 110 foot drop, some even dangling their legs over the side. What impressed me even more was returning to the falls after a rainstorm, with the thunderous sound of the water crashing below, sending clouds of mist high into the air. Water poured over the entire edge and where I had seen people standing beneath the falls before was now submerged, as if there had never been dry land. Although I have gone back several times, I have yet to take a picture that captures the true magnificence of this waterfall’s size and beauty.
