By Michael Aaron Gallagher
Jane’s gone home
in her white linen sundress
with her stringy blonde hair
pulled back behind her ears
Her sun-baked confidence
running down to her sandals and toes
Her love is like a lashing
from her daddy’s belt
She leads me on like a golden retriever
I never spoke a word of it
To anyone.
