By Michael Aaron Gallagher
A winter soul-white covering lay across
the fabric of your heart.
The rising sun melting icicles
above your reach
One last cloud of hesitation
hung for a moment
and moved along by freedom’s billowing cove
Spring silent, renewed
beneath the cape of your determination
Reborn for a new dawn
Your caring consideration
And thoughtful admiration
appreciated so thoroughly
Until there was a signal from the shore
that ships could pass this way again, once more.
